As young Black women, Christine B., Gigi A., and Salena D. founded Sapphire to “fuel the art of creation to reflect us and our stories”. Sapphire Hues is an online literary magazine, of which the debut issue will be published in the Fall of 2021.

“Our Palette, An Art Book” is our first project and a subset of Sapphire Hues. The goal of this book was to showcase work by, for, and/or featuring the diversity of womanhood (shades of Blackness, tones, hues of being a woman of color). We gathered pieces that put intersectionality at the forefront to emphasize that womanhood is not static nor is it monochrome.
